albüm , eski bigband adamlarından duke ellington ve dönemin spiritual müzisyeni coltrane'in ortak çalışması. 62 eylülünde kaydedilip 63 başlarında impulse'dan yayınlanmış. albüm kaydedildiğinde ellington 63, coltrane ise 36 yaşında. yani arada baya bi jenerasyon farkı var ama buna rağmen müziği iyi kaynaştırabilmişler. ve tabii ki in a sentimental mood.

He has set standards I haven't caught up with yet. I would have liked to have worked over all those numbers again, but then I guess the performances wouldn't have had the same spontaneity.
